We’ve spent time in the past talking about specific types of strains. Hamstrings, rotator cuff, quads – you name it. Pretty much any muscle can suffer from a strain when placed under a high enough load or high enough stretch.
What is the difference between a Muscle Strain or Tear
So we figured this week might be a good opportunity to talk about the basic principles of recovering from muscle strains. Because – believe it or not – the treatment is pretty consistent from muscle to muscle.
How long does it take to heal?
That’s part of what makes a muscle strain a “convenient” injury (as far as injuries go, that is). Because we have a very clear idea from the outset from your recovery will look like. Here’s the first thing we can say: in most cases, we’re talking a 6 week rehab period.
