If you’re an avid golfer, then I’m sure you can agree that you’d like to be able to play for longer.

Often after a round on the course or a stint at the driving range you’re left feeling tired and sore.

But what if that didn’t have to be the case.

What if your body-swing connection was leading you to place extra stress on your body.

It’s important to assess and not guess when it comes to assessing your golf swing.

This is where the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Screen comes in.

TPI Screens consists of 16 assessments that can be used to diagnose movement limitations that may be affecting your swing.

The full screen requires 45-60 minutes to complete.

It’s used to assess your swing action and inform you of techniques that are inhibiting your performance and increasing undue stress on your body.

Jared (shown below) came to us with a history of lower back tightness through his golf swing.

Using a TPI screen we were able to see that he had poor thoracic rotation and poor lower quarter rotation into his backswing.

This causes his lower back to load excessively leading to his discomfort.

Using what we learnt from the TPI assessment we were able to prescribe some graded exercises that were designed to help resolve his discomfort when playing.

Typically, when this treatment is followed people often report significant improvements in game and reduced discomfort when swinging.
