Back pain during hinging/bending movements?
Hinging is one of the fundamental movements needed to properly participate in a variety of sports – not just weight at the gym.
We also encounter this movement in day-to-day activities like vacuuming or bending over to pick up a toddler.
So if you’re having back pain while hinging, it may be because you’re unconsciously shifting your weight off the side without even realising it!
If you find your pain is on the right side, try this exercise with the band pulling you to the right.
This will force you to shift your weight over to the left and offload those painful structures.
If your pain is on the left, flip it.
